MALACHI PEARSON

Malachi Pearson is a music enthusiast who plays hi-fi sounds and is a member of the dj/producer duo Motel Club.

In a previous life he was the voice of Casper the friendly ghost in the Universal/Spielberg motion picture and Fox cartoon series, had his head smothered in butter on Full House, and built a major clothing licensing brand from the trunk of a car.

These days you can find him discreetly playing music for some pretty rad humans, organizations, brands and festivals.

“I worked with Malachi on a few events during Super Bowl 50 in San Francisco. He rocked both the MASSIVE crowd at Super Bowl City (the large public activation in downtown San Francisco) and did great work at a bunch of VIP events. He has mad style, serious turntable skills and always keeps you guessing. If you are looking for a DJ who can get people on the dance floor, read the room, has deep range and personal style, Malachi is your guy. He was a real pleasure to work with and gets my highest recommendation.”

— Chris Garrity - Super Bowl Committee

“We absolutely loved working with Malachi at our annual gala! The music selection was artful — we received so many compliments from our guests, many in the music industry. Huge cool factor and unexpected selections that felt just right. As to the professionalism - unparalleled, warm, can-do attitude, fabulous attention to detail, punctuality and follow-through.

MATT CASH

MATT CASH STARTED HIS CAREER AS A RESIDENT DJ at SOME OF MIAMI'S MOST RENOWNED DANCE PARTIES FOR OVER five YEARS. he WAS then COURTED BY JAMES MURPHY TO work for his record label, DFA records, in nyc.

MURPHY QUICKLY TOOK A SHINE TO MATT AND BROUGHT HIM ON BOARD TO HELP MAKE LCD SOUNDSYSTEM'S THIRD ALBUM "THIS IS HAPPENING”, LOOKING TO CASH TO PLAY ON THE RECORD AND HELP SHAPE THE OVERALL SOUND.

AFTER his time with LCD AND DFA, MATT BEGAN WRITING FOR NYLON MAGAZINE AND THE LEGENDARY OTHER MUSIC. NOW YOU CAN FIND HIM TRAVELING THE GLOBE AS A MEMBER OF THE DJ/PRODUCER DUO MOTEL CLUB WHILE CONTINUING TO HOLD RESIDENCIES IN MAJOR CITIES THAT INCLUDE NYC AND MIAMI.

“When Matt [Cash] played, [to Matt] Matt, you’ll play these weird little gentle things, and you’ll let it build. You’ll always have an arc. You have an arc that doesn’t require people dance. But it’s an arc. It still feels like something is going on. And there will be a moment when a bunch of people get excited about one song which, played a different way, wouldn’t have gotten them excited. But then there are people who play song after song with no story, and no arc—serious songs that I take really seriously. Something about that cheapens the songs in a weird way to me”

— James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem, DFA Records) for Resident Advisor
